Our next meeting

Thursday 19th November, 7pm Emsworth Community Centre
What has Community Energy ever done for us?

Community Energy and what it could mean for Emsworth
Speaker:  Mark Holliday of Havant Community Energy

Large-scale local energy generation (solar, wind, etc.) is crucial to decarbonising the electricity system and reducing the need for new grid infrastructure. Local energy generation is becoming big business – we want the local community to benefit, not a distant developer.

Havant Community Energy is developing a project to install solar panels on the former landfill at Broadmarsh that could power over 1,000 homes, and solar panel installation and energy efficiency measures for Havant community centres. The talk will cover these projects as well as the future of community energy and what this might look like in Emsworth. Want to know more about heat networks, virtual power plants, geothermal energy, long term storage and resilience? All these are possible in Emsworth in conjunction with the usual rooftop solar, wind and biomass. The emphasis is on the community coming together to develop their own heat and power.

Thursday 10th December, 7pm to 9pm

Celebrating a New Chapter for Emsworth Town

Subject to final ratification by Havant Borough Full Council, Emsworth is set to have its very own Parish Council — a milestone in strengthening local democracy and giving residents a stronger voice in shaping our community’s future.
Join us for a relaxed and celebratory evening as we mark this important moment for Emsworth. There will be plenty of conversation and a hands-on workshop exploring the exciting activities, powers and opportunities a parish council can bring — from community projects and youth initiatives to heritage, environment, events and local services.
Wine and cheese will be served.
This is a really important event – the start of a new chapter. Whether you’re curious, enthusiastic, have ideas and energy to bring, this is a chance to start working together on how a parish council can help Emsworth thrive — and how residents can get
engaged and shape its future from day one.
Come and be part of the conversation. Emsworth’s next chapter starts with all of us.
